Promoting vs Recruiting

Promotional Messages — Recommended

  • Social-media posts, newsletter articles, listserv messages, mailings and email campaigns, announcing your institution’s participation in SNAAP
  • Promotional messages do not ask the alumni to take the survey and can be read by a general audience
  • We encourage you to send multiple promotional messages to your alumni before and during the survey

Recruitment Messages — Not Recommended

  • We do not recommend that institutions send recruitment messages actively recruiting or asking alumni to participate
  • Institutions will have the opportunity to edit alumni recruitment messages closer to the survey administration

OUR SCHOOL is participating in the 2022 Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP) – a one-of-a-kind survey that explores the lives of arts alumni nationwide. SNAAP gathers, analyzes and reports on survey data from arts alumni to better understand their professional success, educational satisfaction, and personal fulfillment. SNAAP survey data delivers a national profile of how artists living in America prepare for their careers and allows for a deepened understanding of what constitutes success in the arts, and the extent of artists’ contributions to culture and society.

In Fall 2022, all arts graduates of OUR SCHOOL will receive an email invitation to participate in the on-line survey. By verifying our alumni office has a current email address, alumni can be sure not to miss their chance to share their experiences and help shape the future of arts higher education across the country and at OUR SCHOOL.

The time our alumni spend sharing their experiences will help OUR SCHOOL along with many other participating institutions across the country better prepare students for success, whether they stay in the arts or use what they’ve learned in other professional fields.

SNAAP is supported by grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation (EHTF).

Social Media

Prior to the survey: OUR SCHOOL is participating in the 2022 @SNAAP.Arts survey. Help us understand how your education shaped your experience, and how you’ve used what you learned – in your work, in your life. We are gathering current email addresses to ensure that all alumni receive an invitation to respond. Make sure that you are on the list by sending your contact information to the alumni office at (alumni@YOURSCHOOL.edu}, and be sure to share this post with your friends from OUR SCHOOL.

During the survey: The 2022 @SNAAP.Arts survey is now online. Help us understand how your education shaped your experience, and how you’ve used what you learned – in your work, in your life. Your experiences and ideas will help shape programs for students at OUR SCHOOL and in arts higher education nationwide. We are partnering with the Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP) to learn more about your experience studying the arts. Have you received your SNAAP invitation yet? If not, let us know and we will get you on the list.

Closing the survey: Hurry! Time is running out to let us know how your education at OUR SCHOOL has shaped your experience, and how you’ve used what you learned – in your work, in your life. Your experience will help shape arts education for others. Check your email for more details.

Pre-Survey Announcement

SNAAP will contact your alumni up to a total of five times throughout the administration of the survey. Your campus project manager will have the opportunity to edit these messages on the SNAAP interface over the summer. Prior to the survey administration in October, we recommend you send a pre-survey announcement message directly to your alumni. Sending a pre-survey announcement may increase your alumni response rates, as this message is coming directly from your institution and may help alumni recognize recruitment emails when they receive them from SNAAP in the fall. Please see a sample pre-survey announcement message here.
